“The ‘jan’ path…” (2014) @ Janpath Metro Staion, Violet Line, by Shubhra Chaturvedi & Vishwesh Sant
Janpath the People's Path, is one of the main roads in New Delhi. It runs North-South perpendicular to and past the Rajpath ( the "Rulers' path"). Originally called Queen's Way, it was an important part of Lutyens' design of the Lutyens' New Delhi. The Janpath Road also has on its west the historical Jantar Mantar and on its east the Agrasen ki Baoli. The Art work titled “The ‘jan’ path…” at the Janpath Metro Station is a tribute to these three important elements, the ‘jan’ (people) and the two historical monuments in its vicinity.
